Group Descriptions:

Listening Circles

Rev. Sue Hamilton, a retired PC(USA) pastor, is offering an experience of Listening Circles. Come for a light lunch and to explore this spiritual practice facilitated by Sue.

A listening circle is a group of 3-4 people who meet together on a regular basis to assist one another in an ongoing awareness of God in all of life. Group members support each other through the gift of mutual listening (not problem-solving!) as each member seeks to notice God’s desire for them.

This experience invites you to come with an openness to share your spiritual journey for consideration by others. A consideration not based on judgment or the offering of specific suggestions but one that reverently holds what is received before God. Any response offered is shared from this place of love. Sharing, listening, and receiving in this format, cushioned with moments of silence in between can deepen our spiritual awareness. Come to “try on” this experience.

Near Neighborhood Walking Group

Every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. BSPC members meet in the church parking lot and walk the Near Neighborhood around the church. It is a great way to center ourselves in the Near Neighborhood with which we are expanding our relationships and to enhance fellowship with others from church.

Meditation Group

Join Betty Brown and other Broad Streeters for a time of meditation. This group meets regularly in person at the church and online over Zoom.

Weekly Bible Study

Lead by Rev. Amy Miracle, this is a weekly dive into the Bible that helps Amy prepare for preaching each week!

Monthly Bible Study

Join Ann for the 2023-2024 PW/Horizons Bible Study by Rev. Dr. Olive Mahabir, “Sacred Encounters: The Power and Presence of Jesus Christ in Luke-Acts.”

There are two monthly meeting options; both on Zoom:

• Second Wednesday evening of each month, 6:30-8:00 p.m.

• Second Thursday morning of each month, 10:00-11:30 a.m.

First-timers of any age or stage or gender are welcome.

Pizza and Prose

In this group, we like to enjoy pizza and discuss good books! This informal group meets once a month on a Friday evening, with rotating discussion leaders.

Dine with Nine

Dine with Nine is a fun opportunity for Broad Streeters to get to know one another better. The ‘Nine’ is intentional - you do not have to be part of a couple for these monthly meals. Each solo/twosome of the group of 7-9 rotates hosting either at their home or at a local restaurant (each diner pays their own tab). The dinner schedule is determined by each group at the potlucks. Groups of 7-9 will be created before the potlucks in the Spring and Fall. Since dinner groups are small, everyone has a chance to share stories and ideas.
